Our Commitment to Trans Inclusion

To make it absolutely clear – in MCCNL, we affirm that transwomen are women, transmen are men, and that nonbinary identities are valid and equal also. Transgender people are an equal part of the Beloved Community of Christ, of the life and the ministry of the community, and we will not permit discrimination against our trans siblings. We recognise gender as a spectrum.
If you identify as a woman, we will welcome you as a woman, for all purposes and in all respects.
If you identify as a man, we will welcome you as a man, likewise.
If you identify as nonbinary, agender, genderfluid, genderqueer or any other gender identity, we welcome and affirm you in that gender, and will not ask you to ‘pick’ a binary identity for any purpose.

Intersex variation (or variation of sex characteristic development) is a part of Creation, a part of the Beloved Community; we acknowledge and welcome those who are intersex, however you identify. We recognise the scientific truth that biological sex is also not exclusively binary.
